Italian for “crazy”, Matto features a menu bursting with Italian specialties and hand-crafted, thin-crust pizzas; all recipes compliments of Franco Russo, former chef of Saracen.
Upon approaching the dining room, one will be met by an airy cathedral
ceiling draped in flowing white fabric, lending a soft and romantic
quality, day or night. There will be subtle lighting throughout the
dining area, with candlelight in the evening and daylight streaming in
throughout the day; bronze picture lights illuminate the wine racks,
washing a glow over the texture of the bottles. Comfy outdoor
upholstered banquettes will complete the outdoor room with hurricane
lanterns and oversized candles creating the classic beachside ambiance.
The aesthetically satisfying surroundings are matched with
equally impressive gourmet Italian food. Appetizers include fried
calamari; chopped tri-color with apples and gorgonzola. Thin crust
pizzas are baked to perfection and come in authentic, zesty Italian
combinations; for example, pizza with roasted eggplant and pecorino;
pizza with sautéed spinach and goat cheese. Entrees include
mouthwatering masterpieces such as; Salmone di Sogliola alla Mugnaia,
filet of sole with white wine lemon sauce, and Pesce Spada alla
Diavolo, spicy swordfish with mixed salad and blood oranges; these are
just a choice few of our many delicacies.
Matto is one of East Hampton’s newest "Hot Spots." Matto is open for lunch and
